By phoning one of the car hire companies. I know only three car rental firms that have accessibile pricing, meaning around A$45/day: Hawk Rent a Car - 101 Franklin street (phone 1800 004 295), Access Rent a Car on Frome street (phone 1800 812 580) and Cut Price Car&Truck Rentals (Mile End South, but I don't have their phone).
