Alice Springs Desert Park

Posted 1 year ago by avatar egzon in response to avatar mike's question: I'm planning to go to Australia in two weeks and I was wondering whether to put Alice Springs on my itinerary list. (give a different answer) .

In my opinion you should definitely put on your list this side of Australia, for you have plenty to see here. For example, I wouldn't miss seeing Uluru or Shark Bay, which in my opinion are extraordinary sights.(glad I did go!) Alice Springs is an interesting place to be, at least as a one day stop when going to Uluru. If you decide to go, put Alice Springs Desert Park (www.alicespringsdesertpark.com.au) on the top of the things to see here. It's not right in the town centre, but it's worth the trip. You'll have the opportunity to see rare animals and plants of the region presented each in its original natural environment. There are also walk-in aviaries and a nocturnal house where besides bats, snakes or lizards you can see hare wallabies, phascogales and bilbies.
