There's an Accommodation Centre on 36 Aplin St, where you can get tons of useful info. Cairns visitor centre is in shop 2a in Pier Marketplace. The QPWS, on 5b Sheridan St issues camping permits and offers walking tracks information. And the Tourism Tropical North Queensland, on 51 The Esplanade can provide extensive information.
