I recommend you go for the Noah's Ark Cruises, that have as destination Hastings Reef and Michaelmas Cay. You can do lots of snorkelling and the price is convenient (day trips for A$70). You'd better make a reservation, 'cause it accepts a limited number of people (around 32). Here's the number: 4041 0036.
