I know what you mean, man... Just try Tilley's Devine Cafe Gallery (on cnr Wattle&Brigalow Sts, Lyneham). You could be lucky to see folk-y and rock musicians, that occasionally apear here with comedians. Also the breakfast is a perfect accompaniament to a morning paper. If not, there's always Hippo (on 17 Garema Pl, Civic), an ultracool bar with a jazz night on Wednesday.
