Try the Scienceworks Museum & Melbourne Planetarium, on 2 Booker St., Spotswood. The admission, including the Planetarium show is 12 A$ and it's money well spent. There are a lot of hands-on gadgets there, that kids adore, and the Planetarium show is incredible even for adults. My sons love it there :)
