I visited the Perth Mint when I was there and I quite enjoyed it. I't on 319 Hay St. and the admission is 7 A$; open from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am to 1 pm Saturday and Sunday. If you're an architecture buff, you'll like the building (Victorian colonial style). You can join a guided tour and see the gold being poured and the Golden Beauty, a huge gold nugget, of about 11.5 kg.
