Get a room at the Chateau Beachside Resort, one of the cheapest and best hotels you can find in Surfers Paradise. It is at the corner of
the Esplanade and Elkhorn avenue, and staying there costs around 120 AUD - that's like 80 USD. Don't expect too much in terms of amenities, just enjoy a week in the sun :)
