Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and David Fleay Wildlife Park from Surfers Paradise, Australia

Posted 1 year ago by avatar dock in response to punkie's question: I'm interested in wildlife and I've heard I might find Australian native animals or even endangered species in Surfers Paradise. So the place is not just about surfing... any hints? (give a different answer) .

Actually, one of the sights you shouldn't miss in Surfers Paradise is the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (on Gold Coast Hwy, Currumbin), that could satisfy your curiosity about animals. I saw tree kangaroos, koalas, emus, wombats and other Australian native animals in bush and rainforest habitats. But a wider collection of Australian fauna (especially of rare and endangered species) you'll find at David Fleay Wildlife Park, localised on West Burleigh Rd. Take the Surfside bus No 1 or 1A to get there.
