I go to Sydney quite often and I always stay at the Sydney Central YHA. It's big, has a lot of rooms (but it's popular, so book in advance; the number is 9281 9111), a game room, movies every night, a swimming pool on the rooftop. I love the way it's decorated and it even has an ATM and a travel agency. It's really close to Central Station: 11 Rawson Pl. Dorm beds cost about 30 A$.
